Narrative poem: An extract from the Canturbury Tales
http://prezi.com/z6xuuv7_ssfo/canterbury-tales/
The theme of the extract from The Wife of Bath's Tale is money and happiness. This topic is something that people usually think of. In my opinion, like the extract said, having money does noy imply be happy. Money can help you to achieve things that you want or for example, to treat some illness. But you can't buy happiness... You are happy if you are with people that love you and you do good actions to be a good person.
2nd Poem

THE ROAD NOT TAKEN by Robert Frost.
The theme of this poem is choices in life. I have chosen it because in my opinion it is really interesting and refers to reality. Every day we face different situations. Depending of the importance of these situations, we have to think of them, be responsible for our actions and try to do the best.
The two roads represent methaphors for the two possibilities or options we have.
Whether we realise it or not, we are constantly making choices that determine our future.

Poetry Anthology
http://prezi.com/u4wlipafsyht/fire-and-ice/
I have chosen the poem "Fire and ice" by Robert Frost because it is about something that is really unpredictable and some time we have thought of: the end of the world. Is it going to be by fire or by ice? Who knows? These are some ways to think of it. Both fire and ice are equal in destruction.
The writer uses methaphors. He compares the fire with desire. This comparison suggests that Frost views desire as something that consumes and destroys. Another example is the comparison between ice and hate. I think that he compares them because ice makes things be rigid and cold, and it also causes breaks among things.
The theme of this poem is the end of the world.

POST 1, 2 & 3 Agostina Chiabrando
My predictions have been quite well! I said that the story was situated in the United States, in the twenties. but I was wrong when I said that it was related to arts.
Characters:
- Nick Carraway: He is the narrator of the story. He seems to be a confidenthor those characters with troubling secrets.
- Jay Gatsby: He is a "new rich" man who lives in a mansion where there are a lot of parties and also he is Nick's neighbour. At first, we didn't know very much about him and he seemed to be a bad person. But, during the rest of the novel, we discovered another side of his life and personality.
- Daisy Buchanam: She is Nick's cousin and Tom Buchanam's wife. They are very healthy people and they have a baby.
- Tom Buchanam: He is Daisy's husband but he has a love affair.
- Jordan Baker: She is Daisy's friend and a golfplayer. She is an independent person.
- Myrtle Wilson: She is Tom's lover and Wilson's wife.
- George Wilson: He is Myrtle's husband and he doesn't know that his wife has a love affair.
The quotations that I selected are:
-(from chapter 1): "Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had".
This phrase is what Nick Carraway's father told him when he was younger. It made me laugh because Nick told us this at the first of the story but after two paragraphs he started criticizing Gatsby and also he criticized the other characters while he was telling the story. So I believed that Nick didn't take into account his father's advice.
-(from chapter 6): "He told me all this very much later, but I've put it down here with the idea of exploding those first wild rumors about his antecedents, which weren't even faintly true. Moreover he told it to me at a time of confusion, when I had reached the point of believing everything and nothing about him".
This is what Nick said about Gatsby and I think that it is true because I was reading all the novel trying to discover who Gatsby was! Sometimes I thought that I knew something about him but other times I believed that I knew nothing.
In my opinion the most stiking moments in the story were:
# Gatsby's death and the end of the story: They were unexpected and very surprising. I thought that finally, Daisy and Gatsby would stay together.
# Myrtle's death: It suprised me that Daisy had killed her bacause I think that it wasn't an accident at all. Also I expected that Daisy would accept that she was guilty, not Gatsby.
#When Gatsby plead Daisy to stay with him and to leave Tom but she chosed Tom.
In this story is really shown the fact that money is more important than love. And I don't agree with that at all. I can't deny that money is important to survive and also a person can be happy with it taking into account health. But in the case of Gatsby and Daisy, they are wealthy people so they need love to be really happy.
